Hispanic Holidays Celebration

Required Event

The Green Hope Spanish Honor Society will be hosting a celebration of Hispanic Holidays on Monday, February 25 at Brookdale MacArthur Park. To prepare for this event, members will collaborate in small groups to design presentations for the residents of the assisted living facility. We will start working on these projects during our February 6th meeting, but members will continue to collaborate after the meeting in order to ensure that the club is prepared for the event.

11/14: Thanksgiving Food Drive

Required Event

The Green SHS will be participating in the Catholic Parish Outreach Thanksgiving Food Drive this year. Members are required to bring 10 food items by the second November meeting on 11/14 after school.

Canned Food Items List:

Cans of vegetables/fruit
Cans of soup
Cans of tuna/other meat
Cans of fruit juice

11/14: Operation Christmas Child

Required Event

The Green Hope SHS will be participating in the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. Members will pack shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toys, and personal care items for children abroad. SHS will be sponsoring one girl and one boy in the 5-9 age range. Assigned items will be collected at the November meeting on 11/14 after school.

What to Bring:

1. Sign up to bring at least one item* for the shoebox:

5-9 Year-Old Girl Items
5-9 Year-Old Boy Items
*Members can purchase items at the dollar store

2. $0.50 per member to cover shipping costs abroad.
