Initial days of my life began at the historical suburban of the famous Bengali metropolis Kolkata, named Bally, West Bengal, India. I grew up as the only child of Dr. Dipak Ghosh, a professor of Physics and Mrs. Dipali Ghosh, a homemaker. My first introduction to science and scientific thinking was shaped by my father, who is a continuous inspiration for me throughout my academic journey. After finishing my high school at Bally Siksha Niketan, I did my undergraduate studies at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira (under University of Calcutta), where I discovered my initial fascination towards physics research and particularly got interested in experimental physics. At the end of three years study I received the Bachelor of Science degree in July of 2003.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I went to Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur for my masters degree in Physics. IIT-K gave me great exposure to modern experimental techniques and further motivated me to carry on research in the field of experimental condensed matter physics. I received the Master of Science (MSc) in Physics in Summer of 2005 from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and subsequently joined the graduate program at the University of Florida in the Fall of 2006. In the fall of 2007 I started working in the research group of distinguished Professor Arthur Hebard who has been my PhD advisor for next five years. I moved to National University of Singapore in March of 2013 where I embarked on a new journey of independent post-doctoral research with Prof. T. Venkatesan as my mentor.
During the summer of 2007 I met my would be wife Moumita and then got married to her in the winter of 2008. We spent eight years of our conjugal life and traveled various parts of north america and south eastern Asia. In the October of 2016 we have been blessed with our baby daughter named 'Siddhrita' who was born at NUH, Singapore.
After spending more than 12 years abroad I finally came back to India in May 2019 with an Assistant Professor position in SRM University AP near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
Apart from traveling places and having good food, watching documentary film is one of my favorite hobbies.
