Successfully Meeting the Three Challenges of all Global Assignments

One- to three-day training seminars for global assignees abroad,

those destined abroad, and the spouses of both.

Presented by

Gary Fontaine, Ph.D.

Strange Lands Global Assignment Specialists

The seminar objective is to enhance the success of international assignees in terms of their adjustment, performance, and satisfaction. It familiarizes assignees with the ThreeKey Challenges encountered on all global assignments. These challenges include: (1) coping with ecoshock or their psychological and physiological reaction to encountering new overseas people, places and technologies; (2) getting the job done in this new ecology; and (3) maintaining motivation or the "will to continue to try" to try and put forth their best efforts day after day, year after year. Seminars teach assignees the strategies and skills necessary to deal effectively with these challenges.

These seminars are designed for global assignees, the families accompanying them, the managers supervising them, and their hosts abroad working with them. The seminars deal with the needs and experiences of them all using a variety of workshop training techniques. These techniques help trainees take the skills they've learned "back home" to their job and continue to develop and expand them in a manner tailored to their specific job situations.
