What we do
Human Resource management
• Implements Human Resource strategies for recruitment and selection.
• Implements adequate Performance Management frameworks and strategies that will ensure accountability and the achievement of GES objectives at district level.
• Work with the Supervision Team to monitor the equitable distribution of teachers with the required subject background to schools within the district
• Deploy newly trained Head teachers and teachers in consultation with the District Director
• Transfer of teachers and liaise with regional managers to regulate transfers to ensure newly trained teachers remain in their schools for at least 3 years
• Organize training and staff development initiatives (i.e. organizing in-service training and workshops for teachers)
• Plan, roll out and monitor effective management of leave throughout the District
• Oversee and manage the preparation of Warrants and IPPD inputs for promotions, upgrading, posting and transfers
• Manage the processing of documents on retirements for staff in the District
• Manage the processing of salary adjustments, upgrading and salary re-activation
• Signing off personnel related correspondence (i.e. confidential reports, testimonials, introductory letters, attestations etc.) for outgoing or newly appointed Staff at district and schools.
Change Management
• Implements changes in human behaviour and processes with minimal cost and disruption to the district, in a manner that enhances and ensures achievement and delivery of learning outcomes.
• Implements change management mechanisms to assist employees with change within the district. Learning and Development
• Implements appropriate learning and development strategy for the district to aid the capacitation of employees within the district. • Manage the delivery of training initiatives by internal/ external facilitators.
• Spearheads and implements continuous professional development of GES staff at district and school level.
Employee/ Teacher wellness
• Maintain employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, and morale.
• Undertake activities relating to staff welfare matters, grievances, investigating unprofessional conduct of staff etc.
• Ensure that employees wellness programmes and initiatives are implemented within the district.
Stakeholder and Employee Relations Labour Management
• Spearheads the facilitation/ creation of sound employer-employee relations through managing and overseeing effective and efficient implementation and compliance with labour laws at the District level.
• Provide strategic support to district leadership on the handling of grievances.
• Ensure extensive stakeholder management that provides feedback and accounts for district operations.
Reporting
• Send collated personnel data and statistics to Headquarters monthly
• Drafting of periodic reports to the Headquarters
