PLANNING & MONITORING, DATA COLLECTION, RESEARCH AND RECORDS

Planning and Data Management

• Manage the collection and collation of figures on enrolment of pupils by sex, class and school

• Oversee the compilation of up to date educational statistics, list of teaching and nonteaching staff by school and circuit to be used by Registry, HRMD and audit units

• Furnish District Director with information on enrolment, staffing, infrastructure, textbooks and furniture

• Provide statistics for the distribution of textbooks and the teaching and learning materials

• Manage the annual Basic school census at circuit centres

• Use data collected and analysed to plan for effective and efficient running of schools in the district

• Manage the distribution of teaching and learning materials sent to every school

• Manage the data on number of schools, classrooms and furniture in the District

• Oversee the upkeep of a database on budget and administration for reports, monitoring and evaluation

• To ensure the training of basic schools’ heads on the conduct of census in their schools Budget Management

• Manage the data cleansing to ensure accurate teacher/worker data is captured and maintained (ghost names are removed from pay rolls)

• Overseeing the preparation of financial reports by the Accountants and Budget Officers.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Implement and spearhead monitoring and evaluation procedures of educational programmes in the district

• Oversee the administration of external exams and analysis of examination results in the district Infrastructure / Facilities Management

• Undertake regular school mapping, monitor and plan towards the needs of the district

• Inform where new Primary/Junior High Schools (JHS) should be constructed

• Oversee the inspection/inventory of physical facilities in schools and inventory of school equipment

• Oversee the supervision on-going rehabilitation and new construction projects under the Directorate

Infrastructure / Facilities Management

• Undertake regular school mapping, monitor and plan towards the needs of the district
