Subsidized Health Insurance

During our last contract negotiation with the university, we won 100% coverage of the university health insurance plan premium. Domestic students may need to decline the waiver on SiS to start coverage. International students should be automatically enrolled. Please note students must be enrolled in 9 credits for coverage to begin on August 1st of each year. Subsidies should appear on your SiS Financials page in September/October with the line item “PY TA/RA H&W Adjustment”.

Subsidized Dental Insurance

We won 60% discount on the optional dental plans offered through the university to students. The 60% discount applies only towards a dental plan for the enrolling student. Enrollees will be charged the full difference between student only plans and those with dependents (see tables below). There are two plan options, DeltaCare and Total Choice PPO. Additional information regarding the plans can be found here (with more accurate pricing): https://www.universityhealthplans.com/letters/letter.cgi?group_id=161

For coverage starting on September 1st 2023 through August 31st 2024, students must register before August 10th 2023. There is a rolling enrollment period so members can sign up for coverage starting October 1st 2023 any time before September 10th 2023 (same for future months as well; enroll before the 10th of the prior month). However, there is a specific cut off date after which Delta Dental do not accept enrollments for the plan year. More information can be found on the University Health Plans website.

Students will be asked to pay the full price of the premium and admin fee at the time of registration. The 60% discount will be reimbursed in a future paycheck.

The total cost for DELTACARE PLAN coverage is as follows (reflective of prices prior to August 10th 2023. For more up to date pricing and later start dates, please visit the aforementioned University Health Plans website):

The total cost TOTAL CHOICE PPO coverage is as follows:
