Because my exhibition of 2005 was successful on many levels and gave me a real opportunity to see my work away from the studio, I decided to present a further exhibition of new work in January 2009.
The paintings shown were a selection taken from the “Nordic Cycles” on which I have been recently working.
The titles for my paintings were from the original sources and so I provided a translated text for visitors.

The sixteen “Dreams of a Summer Night” paintings which I exhibited, were only a selection from the series and since the exhibition ended, I have produced more pictures, extending the cycle to thirty-one works. I have a number of references which have given me ideas for more work in this series. I am not certain when they will come to a natural conclusion, but I do have some ideas for a new cycle of paintings called “Paradise Gardens”.
The comments and reception of the works here in Nottingham have been most rewarding and encouraging. Ideally, I would like to see the groups of pictures exhibited in full at other sympathetic venues elsewhere and especially at home in Wales.
