Research
Field Observations, Lab Analyses, and Numerical Modeling
The areas where I conducted my field research, taught field courses, attended field camps as a student, did field-mapping internships, and assisted other geologists.
I investigate scientific questions from the perspectives of various geological subdisciplines with an array of research approaches, from field observations to lab analyses to numerical modeling.
The main fields I am interested in:Â
Regional Geological Histories
Active Tectonics/Earthquakes
3D Structural Geology
Thermochronology/Thermokinematic modeling
Geodynamics/Geomechanics/Rheology
Tectonics, Climate and Surface Processes Interactions
My research projects in Asian and North American geology deal with a broad spectrum of topics, spanning from Subduction Zones to Continental Collision Zones, earthquake cycles to long-term geological histories, and deep crustal rheology to surface landscapes.
I also like developing side projects while I am teaching and learning.
