Biography
Joseph F. Gargasz was born in Lorain, Ohio in 1973. He received his BFA from The Columbus College of Art and Design and continued his studies in Kasama, Japan while attending the Kasama International Stone Carving Symposium in 1995.
He was represented by Gallery V (Columbus Ohio) and Barth Gallery (Cleveland Ohio) and has exhibited internationally including In Beijing China and Frankfurt Germany. His works are included in corporate and private collections including Cree Lighting (NC) and he has exhibited at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art and The Cameron Art Museum. He is a recipient of the Elizabeth Greensheilds Foundation Grant of Canada for representational art.
His career has spanned over twenty five years working for art institutions such as The Columbus Museum of Art, The Allen Memorial Art Museum, The Ackland Art Museum and currently he is the Director of Exhibition Design at the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
