Response to the Tragedy in Dayton
FAMILY SERVICES AVAILABLE TO MEET
THE NEEDS OF FAMILIES AND VICTIMS
As we have for the past 124 years, Family Services is here to help anyone trying to cope with the tragedy that shattered our community two weekends ago. The Family Center at the convention center closed Friday; victims, families, friends, witnesses and anyone touched by this horrific event can contact us for help.
Family Services receives special dollars from the Victims of Crime Act through the Ohio Attorney General's Office to support victims. With these dollars there will never be a fee for our services and staff are prepared to assist with Crime Victim Compensation.
Our staff is intensively trained in Trauma Informed Care and provides both Psychiatric Services, Counseling, and Case Management for anyone experiencing a trauma. It is increasingly important to remember that one of the most important things we can do right now is support each other, however that may be from just talking to sharing silence.
Look for someone who seems stuck in the process and encourage them to seek help. For consultation, additional information or an appointment please call 937-222-9481. Staff are prepared to assist to talk (short term and long term) without wait.
Family Services is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health to assure this community that we subscribe to the highest possible professional standards in the industry.
Hours of Operation:
Monday- 8:30a to 5p
Tuesday- 8:30a to 8p
Wednesday- 8:30a to 8p
Thursday- 8:30a to 8p
Friday- 8:30a to 5p

Presents the Vision 21 Mobile App for Ohio
Crime Victims!
On June 1, 2016, Family Services officially launched the mobile App for crime victims created in collaboration with the University of Dayton Research Institute. The App was funded by a grant from the Office of Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Program, US Department of Justice*.
The App is called AVIATOR - A Victim Information App To Ohio Resources,
and it is now available free of charge from both the Apple and Android App Stores.
Direct links to the App stores are included here: Apple and Android
A website has also been created to connect with victim resources anywhere internet services are available. Visit the website at: www.aviatorapp.com
The App includes resources for victims of all types of crime for every county in Ohio. It is not only helpful for crime victims, but is also a wonderful tool for those who serve crime victims, including law enforcement, court officials, first responders, medical personnel, victim advocates, counselors and many others. The App is continuously being updated, and we encourage your comments and suggestions at information@fsadayton.org
Family Services complies with all State and Federal Civil Rights Laws
and non-discrimination obligations.
