Route Map ('Anglesey Gold')
Below is the 'ANGLESEY GOLD' route map of The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. This is a path drawn in google maps from high precision GPS data collected by The Friends in 2018 when they walked the Path. It can be viewed as an ordinary Google map or in the satellite view, Google Earth. The map can be expanded so that a small section is shown in detail. Although GPS data can be read precisely it is only accurate to about 5m so that sometimes the drawn path may look as if it diverges!
Generally it is easier to follow the route with the Google Earth view.
To get the satellite view you need to click the Google Earth icon at the bottom of the map
Download the path as a file in GPX format .
Grid References Map
The map below, 'ANGLESEY GR' shows the grid references located on Coastal Path furniture.
By clicking on a particular point, a table appears showing the sign number, the name, any other name, grid reference and also 10 digit form grid reference as well as the GPS data.
As with other google maps it can be expanded to see more detail. The map and the signs on the waymarker posts and on other furniture have been produced by The Friends for the use of The Coastguard and other emergency services in helping the public. The six section colours used for the plaques are purple, orange, red, yellow, green and brown on the last section.. Click a grid reference marker firmly to find the details of that one.
