Instructions for on-site applications to the Department of Biology WSU

The following describes the requirements for on-site applications to the M.S. or Ph.D. programs in Biology during meetings with WSU representatives in India. The Department of Biology will consider on-site applications to admission to the Ph.D., M.S., and M.S. Biotechnology programs. Projected admission with be for Fall Term 2007.

The following documents need to be submitted along with your application:

1. Curriculum vitae (CV)

2. Personal Statement

3. Three letters of recommendation (printed on official institution letterhead/stationery)

4. Official transcripts/degree certificates from University/Universities attended

5. GRE (general) test score report (not required for M.A. applicants). GRE score of at least 1000 on the Verbal and Quantitative portions of the test, and a minimum of 3.0 on the Writing Assessment.

6. * TOEFL score report (213 computer-based, 79-80 internet-based)). Can be waived on-site pending proficiency in English conversation.

7. Check or money order for $50 made payable (in U.S. funds) to Wayne State University. Application fees can also be collected at a later time point.
