Winterguard utilizes flags, rifles, sabres, and dance traditionally associated with marching bands and drum corps and puts them into an indoor setting. This activity combines the beauty and pageantry of dance, the drama of theatre, and the precision of marching band into one production. Winterguards perform as their own competitive unit indoors during the winter and spring season.
Because of the competitiveness of winterguard it recommended to have marched a season of fall Colorguard.
The FHS Winterguard competes in Scholastic A in both AIA and WGI circuits.
