Positions
I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Cà Foscari University of Venice and Affiliate Researcher at the Paris School of Economics (PSE).
Before joining academia, I worked at the Banque de France, as Senior Research Economist in the International Macroeconomics Division (December 2014 - September 2019, tenured in Dec. 2017), and Invited Professor at the Paris School of Economics for the Chair Banque de France at PSE (October 2019 - August 2023).
After completing my PhD, I was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Lausanne (October 2011 - August 2014). I also held visiting positions at the Department of Economics of the University of California Berkeley (August 2012 - February 2013) and at the Ente Einaudi for Economics and Finance in Rome (September - November 2014).
I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the Paris School of Economics in September 2011. My dissertation, Aggregate implications of firm dynamics and credit market frictions, was supervised by Philippe Martin (PSE), with a committee that included Philippe Bacchetta (University of Lausanne, referee), Florin Bilbiie (PSE), Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas (University of California Berkeley, referee), and Jean-Olivier Hairault (PSE).
I am a research fellow at the EUTAX Observatory and the The Institute for Macroeconomic and International Policies, and I co-organize the Economics Seminars at Cà Foscari. Together with Gaetano Gaballo (HEC Paris), I co-founded the Salento Macro Meetings in 2017, a conference held in Lecce, Italy, every summer since.
Previously, I served as executive director of the PSE-CEPR Policy Forum from its first edition in 2023 through its third in 2025. Between 2020 and 2023, I organized the Macroeconomics Seminar and the Macro Workshop at the PSE, and served on the Steering Committee of the Chair Banque de France at PSE (2018 - 2023).
