Pass and Review
Every year, the Flying L Battalion participates in the Annual Pass and Review. This is a ceremony where every JROTC unit in Broward County come together to honor the Cadet of the Year from each battalion as well as the overall Cadet of the Year representing BCPS.
AMI
After cadets get warmed up and have a better understanding of JROTC, all cadets participate in an annual military inspection based on their drilling skills, academics, and uniforms. During this time, they march around our school football field, stand at attention, and get individually inspected by our Area manager. Parents and other students are welcomed and encouraged to come out to support!
Ship Visit
This is a special event where select cadets are able to tour a commissioned navy vessel. This is to get a better understanding of the curriculum they have been learning in class. Everyone is expected to show up in uniform and get a feel for what life would be like on a real naval vessel.
Military Ball
Once a year, we host our annual Military ball! This ball is very similar to prom or homecoming, but for our NJROTC cadets. This event is a get-together for all to grow and build a better connection between cadets through food and music. We also have a swordach where top staff, graduating cadets, and VIPs walk through. This is our way of showing our respect and honor to those who are leaving or working hard for our unit.
Awards Night
Awards night is a special day for all. On this day, we announce our future staff and present medals, ribbons, cords, and certificates to many different cadets. As well as say our final goodbye to the seniors who will be graduating rather soon. It is also a night for our unit to come together and support each others accomplishments and abilities. This is another event for which parents and many others are welcome to come out too.
