Course Syllabus:
1- Introduction: Signals and system mathematical definition, the characteristics and properties of them.
2- LTI continuous systems: Time domain analysis, and convolution integral for LTI systems, properties and characteristics.
3- LTI discrete systems: Time domain analysis, and convolution sum for LTI systems, properties and characteristics.
4- Fourier analysis: Frequency domain representation of signals, periodic signals and Fourier series,
Fourier series properties,conversion tables
5- Fourier analysis: Frequency domain representation of signals, aperiodic signals and Fourier transform,
Fourier Transform properties, conversion tables, inverse fourier transform.
6- Laplace Transform: Frequency domain representation of continuous time systems, definition, properties,
inverse Laplace transform.
7- Laplace Transform: Laplace transform properties, duality properties, region of convergence, stability.
8-Midterm
9- Discrete Fourier analysis: Frequency domain representation of discrete time signals,
periodic signals and discrete Fourier series, discrete Fourier series properties, conversion tables
10- Discrete Fourier analysis: Frequency domain representation of discrete time signals,
aperiodic signals and discrete Fourier transform, Fast Fourier Transform
11- Z Transform: Frequency domain representation of discrete time systems, definition, properties,
inverse Z transform
12- Z Transform: Z transform properties, duality properties, region of convergence, stability.
13- Application: Analog filters, frequency separation, ideal filter, Butterworth filter, cross over frequency,
bandwidth, design limitations.
14- Final
