Founded in 1944 for Ford men, women, and their families; today, the chorus is open to anyone 18 years or older. No need to be a Ford Motor employee. We are a proud member of the Ford Employee Recreation Association (F.E.R.A.). We perform for a wide variety of Company, employee, and community functions. We perform a variety of music including classical, traditional, and contemporary - with accompanist and a cappella. Solo and ensemble performance opportunities are possible/available through the year. The chorus is mixed voice: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone and Bass. Auditions are held during the first few practices at the beginning of a season. New members sing along with the rest of the chorus and the director does a silent evaluation
The chorus year is split into two season - spring and fall. We meet Monday evenings at Ford World Headquarters from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm.
The Chorus is self-governed through an Executive Board of Directors, elected each April from the general membership. The Board meets on the 1st Monday of each month at 5:30 pm, in the World Headquarters cafeteria. Board meetings are open to all chorus members, and you are encouraged to attend. Attend a Board meeting - influence the Chorus' decisions!
