Hyperplastic polyps

Polyps are usually small in size, and less than 2 cm in diameter.

Typically they arise in the setting of chronic atrophic gastritis.

Most resolve with H. pylori treatment.

Malignant transformation is unusual to rare, at 1% to 3%.

Endoscopic polypectomy is the treatment of choice.
