Biliary dyskinesia

Clinic: typical symptoms of gallstone disease w/o gallstones

Dx:

• ERCP w/ basal sphincter pressure >40 cm of water;

• Cholecystokinin stimulated HIDA scan - failure of the gallbladder to contract after stimulation may suggest dyskinesia.

Tx: CBC, endoscopic sphincterotomy; cholecystectomy;
