What to Bring

For FRC/FTC (brought to you by Stuypulse/694 and amended by Norm and Jeanne)

Make sure your belongings are labeled with your team number. Tools/chairs look the same.

  1. Robot/OI/controller (and classmate charger)
  2. At least two batteries (preferably more), with a charger
  3. Tools for fixing the robot when it breaks: most likely includes wrenches, pliers, and others -specific to the robot
  4. Duct tape
  5. Power strip labeled with your team number.
  6. Marketing materials: brochures, business cards, etc. While FIRST does provide useful materials explaining their programs, it's nice to have information specific to your team, as you can often make connections at these events.
  7. A folding table if you have one. (while we don't need everyone to bring one, it helps to have 1-2 more than Maker Faire provides)
  8. Team banner
  9. Something to run the robot on if it has brittle wheels - some teams have wood "mini-fields" or rugs.
  10. Food or money for lunch
  11. Schedule of who will be with robot during each two hour slot.
  12. Anything else cool to bring.
  13. Note: your coach/teacher must have all student contact info
  14. Water bottle for your human team numbers.

The two most likely scenarios to be prepared for seem to be draining batteries (thus the need for a charger and the constant charging of batteries) and the robot breaking.

For FLL

  1. Robot
  2. Extra batteries
  3. Robot field/mat (we will supply a folding table but will no longer be coordinating the field for the weekend)
  4. Food or money for lunch
  5. Schedule of who will be with robot during each two hour slot. (for both adults and students since FLL teams aren't usually old enough to be alone)
