FERRYMEAD BUS MUSEUM

Membership to the Busmenz Shed will be $20 per year for those wishing to be a regular attendee and volunteer. What do you get for that? A chance to be part of our Bus Museum and to help with the restoration of any bus we happen to be working on at the time. You can suggest and organise any model or photographic displays. To host Park visitors through our Museum on weekends or during the week if you wish. And, as with most Mens Sheds, you can bring along any small project of your own to work on, seeking assistance and guidance from other members as you wish. We may even throw in a cuppa tea or coffee, though you may have to boil the jug.

As with most Mens Sheds, we welcome casual members week to week and for them we make a charge of $2 per week to cover power cost and a cuppa. We are also looking to have an agreement with the Heathcote Community Mens Shed nearby so that our folk can go to their Shed and their members can come to us to use equipment the other may not have, or skills and experience from people in the other group.

We are seeking membership of the New Zealand Mens Shed organisation and that will give us access to a lot of administrative information and connect us with other Sheds around the country.

Our biggest project currently is to build our Bus Museum building , at a cost of about $65,000. Any donations towards this would be greatly appreciated. Once we have got our building, our next project will be to fit it out with workshop and display areas. Then, we will be interested in restoring an old bus - one that fits in with our rural Canterbury scenaria or a School Bus, whatever we can obtain. So watch this space!!!!! And Thank You.
