4 generations: my mother Lisl, grandmother, Mitzi, great grandmother Clothilde, and great great grandmother Josephine (Austria 1908)
3 generations: Hannah, Leslie, Bobby (at Hannah's high school graduation 2012)
My family history tidbits about my family, with emphasis on the people who appear the most in the collection donated to the Leo Baeck Institute.
The Unanswered Letter: One Holocaust Family's Desperate Plea - this is a book about my grandfather's brother's attempt to flee Nazi-occupied Austria - the research, what happened to various members of the family, and how it impacted the author. Quite compelling but published by a creepy right wing publisher, so if you're inclined to get it, go to the library or order from an independent book store.
Family Stories Related to the Holocaust - a series of short vignettes
What shaped my family's life more than anything was the Anschluss, the incorporation of Austria into Hitler's German Reich in 1938. Even though Austrians for many decades after described their country as the first victim of Naziism, the reality was that the Nazis were welcomed with open arms. For some reason, this postcard, depicting the Anschluss and celebrating "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer", was among the things brought to the US by my mother and her parents. The other side is the first day of issue of a stamp commemorating the same.

And my non-biological family - Oakbyte then and now
And mention must be made here about Hayden and Simon, my two other biological children lovingly raised by Harneen and Susan.
And, of course, the pets. The first 16 furry creatures that Leslie and I have had, with birth, death and acquisition dates.
