About Us
Fellowship
We use the term “Fellowship” instead of “Church” to emphasize that we are but a part of the broader Christian family.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
We gather each Sabbath for praise & worship, learning, and fellowship. Most services are followed by social fellowship time, and some form of a potluck, as we believe that building bonds in love with one another are essential to the Christian Way.
Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Ours is a group effort, for we each have different spiritual gifts. Our organization and our services are both in keeping with this principle.
Romans 12:4-8 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
We invite all to come visit, to learn, to discuss, whether you are a member of another denomination or a non-Christian seeking answers.
Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
Acts 17:1-3 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ.”
The Word
The word of God, the Bible, is our authority. To this end we rotate speakers, even unto having outside speakers, so that the opinions of no single person can overshadow the Word of God.
Matthew 23:8-9 But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
We believe that the entire Word of God is still relevant, including the Law and the Prophets. We do not believe that the “old” commandments were repealed on the cross, but that grace was given unto salvation that all might aspire to be children of God.
Matthew 5:17-19 Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
To attend is to learn, to see the connections between verses written centuries apart, to see the unity of the Old and New Testaments, to see threads that run all the way from Genesis to Revelation.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Jesus is the Word of God, and as Christians, we aspire to follow Him. We are a New Covenant church. Messiah taught new lessons and gave deeper insight to the commandments of God, which we strive to heed.
John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
Fellowship of the Word teaches there is only one salvation dependent doctrine:
The sacrificial body and blood of the risen Jesus Christ, Yahshua Messiah.
Through His sacrifice we are forgiven in repentance and God lives within us.
