Each day your child will be given a choice of various activities to take part in including creative play, music and arts and crafts. Each day will be planned specifically to suit your child and their needs/wants. If parents wish any particular activity to be included then this can be discussed.I have a large garden and plan different activities for the garden each day including a vegetable garden where we grow our own vegetables and harvest them which we will use in cooking our meals. We go on many outings, recently to Lewes Castle and Raystede Animal rescue centre.
I plan care for each child individually, based on the Early Years and Foundation stage. Children learn while they play, giving them the best possible start to their education while giving them a fun and exciting time. I have updated my policies and plans to reflect the new EYFS that came out September.
I enjoy all aspects of being with children, from messy play, to dressing up and have a wide variety of toys for children to play with. I encourage a healthy lifestyle and ensure that children take part in active play outside each day. Although we like to have fun I also have firm and fair boundaries to ensure children know what is right for them to do. Keeping children busy helps and I also use reward systems and praise model behaviour.
FOOD Children can either bring their own packed lunches or we provide healthy home-cooked food from a varied menu.
Food is often cooked by the children. Each meal will include a portion of vegetables. I get an organic fruit and vegetable box each week, use vegetables and fruit from down the garden and purchase organic food for the children whenever possible.
Parents can request specialised meals for their children according to their wishes/dietary needs. Most of the food served is vegetarian with the majority served being vegan too. Meals are adapted to meet any dietary needs that children have. I do serve food with the following allergens: cereals containing gluten, eggs, fish, milk, nuts and sesame.
See menu plan document below for an idea of food that will be served each day and for any potential allergens.
