Course code MAS181 / MH1800
Content: Basics of differentiation and integration of functions of one variable.
Course aim: relate calculus to real life.
Course outcomes: by the end of this course, a student should be able to
solve real-life questions (text questions) from chemistry or physics that require calculus,
calculate limits, derivatives, integrals,
demonstrate understanding of concepts, rather than memorizing formulae, to be able to estimate limits, derivatives, integrals from functions' graphs.
Activities: lectures, tutorials with group discussions, online quizzes, online discussion board, clickers, computer labs, chocolates for finding mistakes in lecture notes.
Textbook: Briggs, Cochran Calculus
