A seminar will be held on 24th and 26th September for a group of investigators and young researchers who, as they are researching and publishing in this area, have shown an interest in developing the project - The Treasury – A History of Practices of Financial Management - 15th to 19th century (Fazenda – História das Práticas de Gestão Financeira - séculos XV-XIX) with us.

The aim of this first Seminar is to reflect on works we and others have undertaken. This does not imply research on an unpublished topic but rather a new perspective: to look at research done from a theoretical and methodological viewpoint, what has been put forward on a specific topic and what still needs to be done to advance our knowledge on (public and private, lordly, ecclesiastical, mercantile, etc.) financial administrative management in relation to material conditions, schools of thought and social networks...

We have programmed two working afternoons (14h-20h Lisbon time), which include presentations and debates for this 1st international Seminar. Given the financial constraints imposed on this type of scientific activity, we would like to invite our foreign colleagues to take part by way of videoconference, in the event they cannot make it to Lisbon.
