Darkest Peru Alpacas

We have been raising and breeding alpacas for seven years, however, we are currently having to downsize for family reasons-please look at our animals, we have some great animals! We made it to one show last year and the female we took got a blue. We are happy to talk about what you are looking for in your alpacas. And, hopefully, we have something that works for you. We have a nice selection of animals, whether you are looking for fiber pets or breeding and show quality. All of our animals are open, but can be bred to any of our males when purchased.

Darkest Peru Alpacas has MOVED! We are no longer in Colorado, but have relocated and are getting settled in Sherwood, Oregon! Our website sadly has not been updated. Our contact information is the same, so please feel free to contact us!

Our focus is on conformation, lingering fineness, density, uniformity, and color. The country of origin is not important to us. While we do prefer color, our farm name was actually chosen for other reasons. After months of agonizing over a farm name, we were reading Paddington Bear to our daughter. During the story, we learned that Paddington Bear was from Darkest Peru. A couple days later, with the name still in our head, we discovered that Paddington was from Darkest Peru in an effort to help with conservation efforts of the spectacled bear. In fact, proceeds from the sales of Paddington Bear go to support these efforts. Further solidifying this name-our first alpaca born to us was on the 50th anniversary of Paddington Bear.

While our farm continues to evolve and become more sustainable, we strive to improve each generation. We do annual fiber stats on all of our animals every year and we are commited to breeding quality colored alpacas.

We continue to research and ask questions and welcome any and all questions. Hope to hear from you soon!
