Marriage record indices are online for Cuyahoga County from the years
1810 to the present.
You can search this index at:

Use the Search by Person section. You can search by last name only, or first and last name. The last name field must contain at least two letters. If you wish to limit your search to females or males only, click on "party role" and choose bride or groom. Under "case category" choose Marriage.
When the results appear, you will have to click on each name to see more information about who that person married and the date. Disregard any dates that you see before 1998, as all records before 1998 appear to have the same date of 1900, and thus the date is not helpful or correct. However, the date of marriage for marriages after 1998 are correct. If you see a date of 1900 and want to learn the year the marriage took place, make note of the VOLUME and PAGE NUMBER that appears in the individual record. Once you have the volume and page number, look below to see a list of the volume numbers and what years that volume covers. To get an actual copy of the marriage record, contact the the Cuyahoga County Archive (Volumes 1-200) or the Marriage License Bureau (Volumes 200+). Addresses are found on the home page on this site under the marriage section.
Western Reserve Historical Society has microfilm of marriages through 1960. Fairview Park Library has microfilm of marriage for Volume 1-200. (through October 1949)
Below is a table of the years that each volume covers, so that you can approximate when the marriage occurred. If you find a marriage listed and you are interested in obtaining a copy of the record, and that marriage is in Volumes 1-200, you can write to the Cuyahoga County Archive at their email address:
Give them the Volume Number, Page Number, and names of the couple, plus your name and mailing address. There is no charge for less than 40 documents as of Feb 2006. Once you get the marriage record you will get the name of the pastor who performed the wedding ceremony. You can then go to the Pastor's site on the left and find which church the couple was married in.

Information on later volumes are not complete, but the year of marriage may still be estimated. Additions and corrections are appreciated.
Note that there are significant date overlaps, and multiple volumes may need to be checked.
BANNS were notifications from clergy of the pending marriages in their parishes from the pulpit requesting information of any potential problems. Marriages were performed without benefit of licenses, so much less information is shown in the volumes.
