FREE CENSUS - HERITAGE QUEST - THIS IS THE ONE YOU SHOULD GO TO FIRST - free for Cuyahoga County Library card holders and Cleveland Public Library card holders. It may also be free at other libraries across the country as well if they subscribe to Heritage Quest. Check your local library website to see if it appears in their research databases. Heritage Quest has the census for Cuyahoga County for 1820, 1860-1880, 1900-1920, and 1940. Go to either the Cuyahoga County or Cleveland Public Library website, click research databases, then genealogy, then Heritage Quest. Enter your library card number and password when asked. Heritage Quest has the best search tools available. You can do a general search, advanced search, search by year, county, name, age, sex, race, and birthplace - any combination of the above. So, if you can't find who you are looking for with a surname search because the surname is misspelled, you can just enter their first name, an age range, and Germany for place of birth. Everyone with that first name, age and born in Germany will appear. Play around with this - you can do any number of different combinations.

Please write in 'Miejscowosc' (town) the name of the parish, and click on 'Szukaj' = search, so you have almost all about the availability of the church book years in this parish/church, and/or in the local diocese archive, together with full postal address of the parish, local diocese might be researched with Polish internet. One ammendment from author Stan, but maybe important, from the second remark in Polish under the 'Search': if you see in the line 'Ksiegi parafii' - 'Parish church books' only one date (year) with Narodzin (Births), Slubow (Marriages), Zgonow (Deaths), it means that they have ALL church books of this kind from that year till today,
