The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the Department of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University are seeking a successful candidate to fill a Ph.D. position. The job description, research areas, qualifications, and more details are available below.

Description: The full-time Ph.D. position is jointly funded by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the Department of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University. The Ph.D. will be jointly supervised by JProf. Dr. Fang-Jing Wu associated with the Communication Network Institute in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Prof. Dr. Jian-Jia Chen leading the Design Automation of Embedded Systems Group in the Department of Computer Science. The working language is English. In addition, the commitment to support teaching duties in exercise sessions in both of the two departments is expected. The salary rank is based on the standard personnel rates in the university.

Research topics for this Ph.D. position are expected in the following areas but not limited to cyber-physical systems, edge computing, embedded systems, pervasive and ubiquitous computing, wearable computing, software-defined communication systems, and wireless networks.

Qualifications: Candidates should hold a degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or electrical engineering. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong background and experience in the areas of communication networks and embedded systems.
