Papercraft Objects: Second Phase Prototype
Monday, October 31
Monday, November 7
Assignment Description:
Let your Phase One prototype inform you as you move forward with this project. Either refine your design, or start a new one to create a Phase Two prototype. This prototype will include printed textures (images, designs, colors or patterns), and will also include a clear vinyl finish.
Assignment Requirements:
1.) Refine or recreate your objects and templates in rhino.
2.) In adobe illustrator, create graphics/textures for each face of your design. While options for this are completely open, the final product should not show any fold/cut lines like in the phase one prototype.
3.) Print on cardstock.
4.) Cover in clear adhesive vinyl.
5.) Score, fold and glue your design. Remember that glueing works best on vinyl-to-vinyl connections, so you might need to cover extra areas with pieces of the adhesive vinyl.
6.) Create a new post on your process blog, and document this assignment (include intro, photos, and a reflection!)
7.) Bring your PHASE ONE and PHASE TWO prototypes with you to class on Monday, the 7th!! We will do a brief informal critique.
Complete this assignment by the beginning of next class (Monday, November 7th).
