The routine tasks relating to fixed assets include posting the monthly depreciation entries into system and maintaining the FA schedule in spreadsheet.
There is a duplicate task of entering the figures twice which creates the need for reconciliation check between spreadsheet and system.
Thus if the system allows for the option of Journal entry upload from spreadsheet, its possible to streamline the process of FA schedule into one: Solely maintain the Fixed Asset Schedule Spreadsheet. The Journal entries will be auto generated from the spreadsheet through bit of VBA coding/ example as per attached template below.
PS: Only need to maintain by filling up the necessary fields circled as per below screenshot. Do note that it only caters for plain vanilla straight-line method.
