Measures are being introduced to combat corruption across France

The non-governmental organisation (NGO)

Transparency International

has created a map of corruption, based on 258 convictions of elected officials in France. After the Ile de France region, PACA was the most affected area, experiencing 26 cases since 1984. The most frequent offences committed by elected officials are breaches of trust (22%), illegal conflicts of interest (21%), active or passive corruption (20%), and political favouritism (18%).
