(Gaffer - Electrical / Cameraman / scenography / costume / makeup artist)
• Relationship of painting art with Photography and Film
Influences of painting on the film frame
(Composition / lines-space / perspective / tone)
2nd day /

• Using the camera
(Aperture / Speed / Sensitivity / Camera movement/ Framing)
• Format
(35mm / 16mm / 8mm / Digitial / HD / 4K)
• Aspect Ratio
The size / shape of the frame as an aesthetic and narrative choice

These lessons go from the theoretical understanding of the technical aspects of manufacturing cameras and lenses and their use, right through to applications on practical setups with busts and models.

Interior lighting. Day and night.
Practical setups with busts and models.
Shooting one scene from a feature film, 3 to 5 shots at a home location, daylight conditions, with actors.

In an outdoor location 4 different setups with models to be shot in daylight conditions.
Exterior Shoot. Evening.
In an outdoor location 4 different setups with models to be shot in night conditions.
6th day /
[Theory / 6 hours]
Cinema film references. Analysis of each shot in terms of frame composition, evocation of mood and emotion in relation to:
• Lens selection
• Angle of view
• Space / compositional axes
• Camera Movement
Examples of great films of the Seventh Art will be discussed - analyzed.
Students' selection of films with the above cinematographic properties will be discussed - analyzed
Theoretical assignment. Analysis of a film from the cinematographer’s point of view.
7th day /

Color Correction
Lighting and color correction / alterations in Post Production
Maintaining color continuity
The class will be divided into groups of seven people. Each group will visit a suite for hands on practice with a colorist, for two hours.
AT THE END OF THE SEMINAR EACH STUDENT WILL HAVE:
Completed several lighting assignments as cinematographer
Completed an analysis work on a feature in terms of Cinematography/Lighting
Attended 7 lessons / 33 hours course
Acquire DaVinci Resolve software for Color Correction and Adobe Photoshop
Attended one day of a professional shoot*
