As a Sessional Lecture I am a regular visitor to the Univeristy of Worcester, Department of Humanities, Digital Arts Centre now in St. Johns campus.
Here I teach 2nd year students in Camera and Lighting Techniques. They are doing a 3 year Degree Course in Film studies and Digital Film Production. I help, advise and guide them with their production exercises in the very well equipped 4 camera HD studio. I teach them how to operate cameras correctly as well as all the other aspects of programme making.
I also give theory lectures, lasting all day to around 60 students, on lenses and lighting ranging from the ‘inverse square law’ to ‘circle of confusion’
As a personal tutor I also have the opportunity to spend about 30 minutes with some of the students to give them help and advice on the course and career prospects.
Working at the Digital Arts Centre of the Univeristy of Worcester is very enjoyable and rewarding experience.
I also run training sessions for other companies:
Exile Room, Athens
They are one day workshops on camera basics using Sony EX3, Panasonic F101 or Sony F3.
I also run stop-motion animation workshops for various media education centres, primary and secondary schools and kids recreational venues. These last for about 3 hours. About 10-12 kids attend plus teachers and educators who want to learn more about how to implement their teaching methods with basic time based visual expression.
The one and half day lighting workshops I run are for around 8-10 people and we cover different light sources, types and techniques and are are very much hands on.
If you have a training requirments please do contact me.
