Erick, I see good progress on the template. You may also want to ask the students to look into the relative costs of electric fans vs, AC since fans are much less expensive to operate. Since you would need some source of power for the green fan as we talked on Friday, you may want to include a battery option for the students in their designs. The unit also offers a great opportunity to learn the basics of electricity, e.g., ,Ohm's law. I think the key misconception is that its possible to do work, like having a fan move air without input of energy. This offers the opportunity to also talk about the efficiency of energy use and energy audits - here is one commercial site I found that may be of interest - http://nationalenergyaudits.com/. This could include the benefits more home insulation.
