Post date: May 10, 2012 11:00:12 PM

Sorry, Way behind on updating this page.

Let's see, 146, 147 and 148 AES conventions all had activies.

Look at my white papers page to see the paper from the 148th 5/June/20.

I also posted a "white paper" that is a version of a paper I submitted for the AES Automotive Conference September 2019. It fell victim to nefarious appropriation and was withdrawn.

AES 138th Convention: Warsaw Poland

A very excellent convention. Warsaw was fantastic. Great food. Friendly people everywhere. And a brilliant contribution to the AES convention from the local chapters.

chair SC04-03 - Loudspeaker Measurement and Modeling

TCLH - Interesting discussions. Great support from co-chair Juha Backman

AES 137th Convention: Los Angeles 9-12 October 2014

AES 136th Convention: Berlin 26-29 April 2014Berlin: Fascinating city. Transit was great, so easy to get around.

conference was pretty good, maybe a bit of a resurgence for the Europe convention, let's hope.

chair SC04-03 - Loudspeaker Measurement and Modeling: had a very productive meeting. Kicked at x168 to get some motion on the standard for systems. And moved along on an ID for repeatable transducer testing.

AES 135th Convention: New York 17-20 October 2013

Another fine convention.

Had a really nice turnout to SC04-03 with a little hiccup with the schedule overlapping common interests.

The weather was mostly great in N.Y. throughout the convention.

chair SC04-03 - Loudspeaker Measurement and Modeling

AES 134th Convention: Rome 4-7 May 2013

Rome !! Unbelievable. The Convention was steps from Trevi fountain..... & from so many other cool places in Rome.

Food was great, people fantastic.

& the AES meeting was pretty ok too !

chair SC04-03 - Loudspeaker Measurement and Modeling

AES 133rd Convention: San Francisco 26-29 October 2012Once again, a nice looking program.AES 133 was a milestone for SC04-03 standards committee on getting the updated AES2R-2012 standard on Loudspeaker Measurements released. This standard is focused on loudspeaker driver units.

AES48th Conference: Automotive Audio 21-23 Sept. 2012 in München, De. http://www.aes.org/conferences/48/The AES48th was a fantastic conference. The papers & presentations were first rate. And vehicle demos such as B&O, Dirac, & the Fraunhofer/Audi 64 speaker Wave Field Synthesis were outstanding.

Workshop: "Audio Quality in Production and Long-term"

Worthy Panelists List:

Jaguar - Land Rover Alan Trevena

BMW Edgar Kirk

Bang & Olufsen Markus Koch

Klippel Gmbh Stefan Irrgang

S1NN Gmbh Michael Fabry

Fraunofer Inst. Johannes Nowak

Chair Steve Hutt

Paper Presentation: "Audio System Variance in Production Vehicles" - Steve Hutt

I presented a case study comparing measurements on four "identical" vehicle audio systems. I received many comments from people saying they wondered when someone would tackle this topic "out loud".

The AES 132nd was a pretty nice affair.

For starters, Budapest is really fantastic. Beautiful, nice people, great food, great beer. And not so hard on the wallet.

I highly recommend a visit & heartily endorse the AES to return for a future convention.

There were a number of excellent papers and workshops.

The Heyser lecture by Graham Bank was another highlight. "Why ARE those capacitors in this circuit? They're not doing ANYTHING"

- You had to be there. Graham is truly a living example of crossroad intersections. Brilliant.
