In this section, two different tables of contents are created. One is TOC.html, the other is TOC.ncx.
To oversimplify things a bit, TOC.html is the table of contents users can access from an e-book's menu, like Kindle's GoTo table of contents. TOC.ncx points devices and apps to the EPUB and MOBI's navigation points.
File Version
Throughout this section, work only in addtoc_projectx.epub.
Both TOCs are created through Sigil's Tools menu.
ACTION: Create TOCs
In Sigil's Tools menu:
Click Tools, hover over Table of Contents and select ‘Generate Table of Contents’.
Click Tools again, hover over Table of Contents, and select ‘Create HTML Table OfContents’.
You’ll see a Table of Contents pane populated on the right side of the central display pane. Several new entries also appear in the Book Browser pane.
For those of you who have suffered through creating HTML TOCs on your own for other e-book production methods, feel free to swear and throw stuff. Sigil is the bomb, amirite?
