South Africa: exploring the timing of early modern human behaviors

Post date: Jan 29, 2018 6:06:11 PM

I will be heading to South Africa in March 2018 to join a team of international scientists investigating the evidence for what is currently the earliest known evidence of modern human behaviors. I am excited to join this multi-disciplinary project in the field to collect samples for geochronology; I hope to refine the timing, tempo, and onset of the archaeological material demonstrating behavioral modernity at these sites. For more on this project, see the objectives outlined by Project Director, Dr. Christopher Henshilwood, on his website.
