Last week I was awarded a Pre-Dissertation Research Grant from the Institute of International Studies, UC Berkeley. With this funding, I will go to Italy to study ash deposits in a paleolake basin that has been recording climate change over roughly the last million years. This research is in collaboration with Il Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche - Istituto di Geologia Ambientale e Geoingegneria in Rome, Italy.
