Fucino Basin, Italy: Article published in Quaternary Science Reviews

The Fucino Basin research group lead by Biagio Giaccio is an exceptional multi-national collaborative team of which I am proud to be a member. Our paper entitled "First integrated tephrochronological record for the last ∼190 kyr from the Fucino Quaternary lacustrine succession, central Italy" is now available online at Quaternary Science Reviews. Here, we produce new ⁴⁰Ar/³⁹Ar ages for 5 tephras from an 83-m long composite core, in addition to using a number of geochemical correlations, to tie 19 out of 23 visible tephras to their respective volcanic origin.
