A player can target up to two players and toggles if they are in the chain.
A second option is to discard the chains and draw another card.
Whenever any player in the chain takes elemental damage, all other members in the chain receive the same. After a player takes damage in the chain, they are restored out of the chain.
To indicate that a player is in the chain, their general card is placed in landscape orientation instead of portrait.
Being in or out of the chain is a toggle status; there is no connection between players added to the chain at the same time. All players in the chain are linked together.
The only way to leave the chain without taking damage is by using Chains.
When damage travels through the chain, it matches the element and amount received by the first player hit. Each subsequent player in the chain takes the same damage, which can be individually modified. For example, Cao Cao receives 2 fire damage; all other players in the chain take 2 fire damage as well. When it reaches Liu Bei, who has Wood Armor, his damage increases to 3 fire damage. This increase only affects Liu Bei. Sun Quan, with the Silver Helmet, takes only 1 damage, while Lu Bu takes 2 fire damage, the original amount.
Negate can only affect one player at a time. Other players must still enter the chain.
If a player trades in their Chains, this action cannot be negated, as it is not considered using the Chains.
