Secret Letter 密信
Once per turn, when Fu Wan uses a card, he can target any other player who has at least one card in hand. That player must give one hand card to Fu Wan. After doing so, that player becomes immune to all damage from Fu Wan for the rest of his turn.
Thorn Hunt 谋刺
Fu Wan may treat Duel as Coerce, and Coerce as Duel.
Fu Wan can only activate "Secret Letter" after using a card, including basic, equipment, or tool cards.
The card given to Fu Wan from "Secret Letter" is chosen and handed over by the target, not Fu Wan.
The immunity granted by "Secret Letter" lasts until the end of Fu Wan's current turn and applies to all sources of damage from him.
"Thorn Hunt" is similar to Zhao Yun's "Dragon Courage" in that it allows Fu Wan to switch the function of specific tool cards when playing them.
A Duel played as a Coerce still functions exactly like a Coerce, including all restrictions.
A Coerce played as a Duel follows all the normal rules for Duel, including the back-and-forth exchange of Attacks.
Gains free cards through targeted pressure and forces a card exchange.
Can completely disable offensive options against chosen targets through immunity.
Card substitution with "Thorn Hunt" increases tactical flexibility and unpredictability.
Excellent deterrent against single-target retaliation due to his immunity clause.
"Secret Letter" does not activate if Fu Wan has no valid targets with hand cards.
Relies on consistent card usage and hand presence to trigger his effects.
Immunity only applies to one target per turn and does not prevent control effects.
Becomes weaker in smaller games or after players have reduced hand sizes.
Card Generators:
Allies like Liu Bei or Xun Yu allow Fu Wan to maintain a large hand and constant card flow for activating "Secret Letter."
Strong political and damage control presence. Reduces threats by disabling attackers and drawing cards through manipulation.
Can absorb pressure from multiple players and protect the King by turning tools into reactive strikes.
Flexible use of cards allows Fu Wan to adjust to a variety of King roles, especially when Duels or Coerces are needed.
Good in duels and confusion, but requires skilled timing and hand management to stay hidden and effective.
Fu Wan excels at control through manipulation. By forcing others to give him cards and disarming them for a turn, he buys both time and card advantage. His ability to swap duels and coerces gives him wide-ranging offensive flexibility while still maintaining an element of political subtlety. While his power weakens against empty-handed foes, Fu Wan thrives in long games with active hands and shifting alliances, turning his enemies' strength into their own undoing.
Fu Wan was a high-ranking official during the waning years of the Eastern Han and a loyal supporter of Emperor Xian. Known for his attempts to counter the power of Cao Cao, Fu Wan once plotted to assassinate the warlord through a forged imperial edict. This secretive and political nature is well captured in "Secret Letter," where he leverages false power and immunity to manipulate threats. "Thorn Hunt" reflects his covert and dangerous attempt to oppose tyranny through indirect and cunning means. Much like his historical efforts, Fu Wan’s gameplay leans on subtlety, timing, and the dangerous art of misdirection.
