Culprit 祸首
Meng Huo is not affected by Barbarians, and any damage caused by Barbarians is considered to originate from him.
Resurgence 再起
At the beginning of your turn, if you are not at full health, you may skip your drawing phase to flip over X cards from the top of the deck, where X equals the difference between your maximum and current health. For each Heart revealed, recover 1 health. The Heart cards are discarded, and all other revealed cards are added to your hand.
Overrun 纵横
King Ability: When any member of the Barbarians begins their turn, you may change any player's allegiance to Shu.
For every Barbarian, your maximum health increases by 1.
"Culprit" works exactly as in the original design; you are immune to the effects of Barbarians and any damage they inflict is attributed to you, amplifying your influence over the battlefield.
"Resurgence" is activated at the beginning of your turn if your health is below maximum. Instead of drawing, you flip a number of cards equal to the health you are missing. For each Heart that appears, you recover 1 health; all Heart cards are then discarded, and the remaining cards are added to your hand.
When using "Overrun", Meng Huo can change the allegiance of any person at the table. This included himself and even the person taking their turn.
The second part of "Overrun" is not optional, Much like Yuan Shao, both rebel and loyal members of the Barbarians will contribute.
"Culprit" ensures that you remain unaffected by the disruptive effects of Barbarians.
"Resurgence" provides a scalable means of recovering health while replenishing your hand, especially useful in prolonged engagements.
The automatic increase in maximum health with "Overrun" makes you progressively stronger as the number of Barbarians on the board grows, rewarding strategies that involve multiple Barbarian characters.
"Resurgence" requires you to forgo your drawing phase and discard several cards to activate its effects, which may leave you short on resources if not timed well.
The effectiveness of "Overrun" is contingent on the presence of Barbarian characters; without them, the bonus to maximum health is significantly reduced.
"Resurgence" can only be used when you are not at full health, limiting its utility during periods of high health.
Despite your strong defensive and control abilities, you lack inherent direct damage output, making you reliant on your team to capitalize on the disruptions you create.
Card Generators:
Allies like Guo Jia or Liu Bei, who can continuously provide extra cards, help ensure you always have sufficient resources to trigger "Resurgence."
Allegiance Shifters:
Pairing with characters that can be affected by changing allegiances, such as Yuan Shu, amplifies the impact of "Overrun."
Healing Synergy:
Teaming up with healers like Hua Tuo or Cai Wenji offsets the resource cost of discarding cards for "Resurgence" and helps maintain your health.
Barbarian-Focused Strategies:
Utilizing strategies that maximize the presence of Barbarians on the board increases your maximum health via "Overrun," enhancing your overall durability.
Your ability to convert any player to Shu and increase your maximum health makes you a potent King, especially in games where Barbarians are prevalent. However, your reliance on specific conditions (being damaged and the presence of Barbarians) means that your effectiveness can vary.
As a Loyalist, your revival and resource regeneration abilities can provide strong support for the King by ensuring that you are brought back into the game and by increasing overall team durability.
In the Rebel role, your own survival depends on maintaining a healthy resource pool.
Your long-term success depends on careful resource management.
Meng Huo is a dynamic character who excels at turning adverse conditions into strategic advantages. With "Culprit," you remain unaffected by the disruptive Barbarians, while "Resurgence" allows you to recover health and replenish your hand simultaneously. "Overrun" offers powerful control by converting any player’s allegiance to Shu and increasing your maximum health based on the presence of Barbarians. Although these abilities require careful timing and depend on specific conditions, they can significantly alter the balance of the game when executed properly. Players who enjoy manipulating the battlefield and leveraging strategic advantages will find Meng Huo to be a highly rewarding choice.
