Wind Reversal 流风
Outside of her turn, whenever she loses a card, she draws another one.
Returning Snow 回雪
She can target any male. He must choose one:
Both he and Zhen Ji discard a hand card and recover 1 health.
Zhen Ji loses 1 health, he takes 1 damage from her, and they both draw a card.
"Wind Reversal" functions similarly to Lu Xun's "Linked Camps" but is more consistent since she always draws a card when losing one outside of her turn.
If Zhen Ji loses an equipped card outside of her turn, she still draws from "Wind Reversal." However, she does not draw if she loses a pending card such as Lightning.
When targeting a male with "Returning Snow," if he is already at full health, he cannot choose the healing option.
If Zhen Ji has no hand cards, she can still activate "Returning Snow," but if the male opponent also has no cards, they are forced into the damage effect.
"Wind Reversal" ensures that Zhen Ji maintains a steady hand, making her difficult to deplete.
"Returning Snow" forces male opponents into a tough decision, allowing her to either weaken their hands or deal damage.
Even if opponents try to target her hand, she can replenish it through "Wind Reversal."
"Returning Snow" only works on male characters, making her significantly weaker against female-heavy teams.
If the opponent consistently chooses the damage option, Zhen Ji may suffer heavy health loss without proper healing.
She does not have an ability that enhances her attacks, meaning she relies on strategy rather than brute force.
Since "Wind Reversal" only works outside of her turn, if she is forced to discard during her own turn, she does not gain any cards back.
Discarding Opponents:
Characters who force others to discard, such as Gan Ning, help trigger "Wind Reversal" for additional card draw.
Healing Support:
Zhen Ji benefits from characters who can heal her, such as Hua Tuo, ensuring she can sustain herself if opponents consistently force the damage option in "Returning Snow."
Defensive Equipment Users:
Since Zhen Ji lacks natural defense, pairing her with characters who provide Eight Trigrams or Black Shield can improve her survivability.
Card Manipulators:
Characters who manipulate hands, such as Guo Jia, can coordinate with Zhen Ji to force enemy discards while keeping her well-stocked.
As a King, Zhen Ji is a decent choice due to "Wind Reversal" keeping her stocked with cards, but her inability to control female characters weakens her overall influence.
She works well as a Loyalist, particularly if the King is male, since she can provide healing or pressure enemies through "Returning Snow."
A strong Rebel choice, as she can disrupt the King’s hand while maintaining her own resources. However, she struggles against female Kings.
As a Spy, she benefits from being able to maintain a hand size, but her impact on the game depends on whether the King is male or female.
Zhen Ji is a resilient and tactical character, excelling at maintaining a strong hand through "Wind Reversal" while putting male opponents in difficult positions with "Returning Snow." While she lacks a strong offensive presence and struggles against female characters, her ability to manipulate the game’s flow makes her a valuable asset in the right hands. Players who can effectively control discard and healing mechanics will find her particularly powerful.
Zhen Ji was originally the wife of Yuan Xi before becoming the wife of Cao Pi, the first emperor of Wei. She was known for her beauty and poetic talent but was caught in the political struggles of the Cao family. Historical records suggest that she fell out of favor with Cao Pi and was forced to take her own life, though later accounts paint her as a victim of court intrigue.
"Wind Reversal" symbolizes her resilience, much like how she endured multiple hardships before her tragic end. "Returning Snow" reflects her influence over men, as she was beloved by many but ultimately at the mercy of the powerful figures around her. Her abilities capture the grace and tragedy of her life, emphasizing both her strength and her vulnerability.
