Strange Assistant 奇佐
For every damage Guo Jia takes, he can do a judgment:
If the judgment card is red, he keeps it.
If the judgment card is black, he can Exile anyone.
Stroke of Brilliance 相知
Guo Jia can choose to skip his drawing phase. If he does, he reveals the top three cards from the deck, selects a color, and adds all cards of that color to his hand. He then distributes the remaining cards to any number of players.
"Strange Assistant" works on a per-damage basis. If Guo Jia takes two damage at once, he performs two judgments.
"Stroke of Brilliance" is used in place of drawing cards, so it cannot be used if Guo Jia has no drawing phase.
When Guo Jia distributes the remaining cards in "Stroke of Brilliance," he can give them to any number of players in any way he chooses, similar to Liu Bei’s "Kindness."
All remaining cards in "Stroke of Brilliance" must be given away; Guo Jia cannot keep them.
"Strange Assistant" allows Guo Jia to generate extra cards whenever he takes damage, giving him consistent resource generation.
If Guo Jia gets a black judgment from "Strange Assistant," he can remove an opponent’s general, potentially crippling their strategy.
"Stroke of Brilliance" lets him tailor his draws while also strategically distributing resources to his allies.
Guo Jia benefits from taking damage, making him an ideal character to absorb attacks.
"Strange Assistant" depends on luck; black judgments are required for disruption, and red judgments for card gain.
Since he lacks defensive abilities, Guo Jia can be easily eliminated if targeted.
His ability to Exile generals makes him a major threat, leading opponents to prioritize eliminating him early.
Guo Jia focuses on card manipulation and control rather than direct offense.
Judgment Manipulators:
Those who can influence judgments make "Strange Assistant" more consistent. This includes Sima Yi and Zhang Jiao.
Card-Heavy Allies:
Allies who benefit from extra cards make "Stroke of Brilliance" even more useful. Examples include Liu Bei and Lu Meng.
A poor choice since his defensive options are weak and he is highly dependent on judgment luck.
Strong if protecting a powerful King, as he can redistribute resources and remove dangerous Rebels.
Useful against Kings who rely on their general abilities, as he can shut them down with "Strange Assistant."
An unpredictable choice; he can aid different factions while accumulating resources.
Guo Jia is a high-risk, high-reward character with a focus on judgment manipulation and card advantage. His ability to Exile generals makes him a powerful disruptor, but his reliance on luck and lack of direct offense can be major drawbacks. He is best used in a role where he can capitalize on his unique strengths without being an immediate target.
Guo Jia was one of Cao Cao’s most valued strategists, known for his intelligence and foresight. His early death at the age of 38 was considered a great loss to Wei. In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Guo Jia is portrayed as a brilliant advisor who consistently provides key insights into enemy strategies. His card abilities reflect both his wisdom and his untimely demise—"Strange Assistant" represents his ability to turn adversity into advantage, while "Stroke of Brilliance" showcases his strategic foresight in distributing resources. His removal effect in "Strange Assistant" aligns with his role in predicting and neutralizing threats before they could cause harm to Wei.
