Q: When is the pathayathirai?
A: Date for walkathon is Saturday, May 18th, 2019. Starting time at the Park is 8:30 AM - Sharp. We expect the walkathon to be completed in about 1-1.5 hrs. The last shuttle from the temple to the park will be at 8:10 AM. Anyone arriving after 8:10 AM should drive to the park directly.
Q: Can my family participate?
A: Adults and children over 12 years of age can participate.
Q: Is there any registration fee?
A: There is no registration fee, but any amount of donations are welcome. All donations are tax deductible. You can pay by check “Eternal Mother Temple” or by cash on the day of the event.
Q: How many years are you doing this Pathayathirai?
A: We are doing this from 2013, Vaikasi Visakam Function. This is our 7th Successful Year. We'd like more and more people to join this event.
Q: What is the plan and where do I park my car?
A: Around 8:00 AM, park your car at the temple and sign up your name. From the temple we will have volunteers to do shuttle services to the park. Please be time conscious as we plan to start the walk at 8:30 AM sharp from the park. Other alternative idea is, your friends can drop you at the Jaycee Park directly . A: Jaycee Park (0.2) – Walton Blvd (0.8) – Baldwin Ave (1.1) – W Kennett Road (1.1)

A: Jaycee Park Dr, Pontiac, MI 48340. (In East Walton Blvd, Jaycee Park Dr is 0.1 miles past Highwood E, If you reach Joslyn Ave you've gone about 0.1 miles too far)

1) Please follow the map route given to you.
2) You can wear slippers or shoes or not even wear them. Choose whatever is comfortable to you.
3) The entire stretch of 3.2 miles has pathways mostly. Please use the pathways. Use caution when crossing the roads.
4) No chanting of religious mantras is allowed as it is considered religious propaganda in the city.
5) We will have volunteers on the entire route to guide you for any questions. We’ll provide the contact number on the event day, for any assistance please call that number.
6) Water / Gatorade will be available with our volunteers on the entire walk for your convenience.
7) Restrooms: There are number of groceries/shops on Walton Blvd and Baldwin Ave. Feel free to use them and join the walkathon back.
8) The volunteers will have a first aid kit for use.
9) If you are unable to complete the walk please call us with the contact number provided on the event day and someone will assist.
10) When you arrive at the temple please take blessings of Lord Muruga and proceed to the Temple Kitchen for some light snacks and refreshments.
