Vaikasi Visakam

Vaikasi Visakam is said to be the day when Lord Muruga incarnated in this world with the mission of saving earth from demons like Soorapadman. Vaikasi Visakam is one of the most important festivals celebrated in Murugan temples.

We will be celebrating Lord Subramanya along with Bogar Siddhar whose energy is very active in our temple. He is one of the great 18 siddhaas and a great alchemist. He invented Nava Bhashanam, a mixture of nine unique poisons that became a medicine to cure all illnesses. He used that preparation to make the idol of Lord Muruga in Palani temple. That is the reason, the abisheka Pancha Amirtham and Holy Ash that are used on Lord Palani Andavar are considered to have real medicinal qualities.
