STEADY BEAT TASK:
With your partners, answer the following questions on the Padlet wall below.
PART 2:
Meter: Beats can be strong and weak. Beats are organized into strong and weak beat patterns. These repeating patterns are the meter in music. There can be a meter of 2, 3, or 4. There is only one strong beat in each group.
METER TASK: Watch the Quaver clip below with Frank. Think about how Frank's feet represent a meter of 2. Turn and teach the members of your group about meter by sharing all you know.
PART 3:
Rhythmic Duration:
Rhythm is the long and short sounds and silences in music.
Duration is how long a note or rest lasts.
Review the notes and rests with the video below. After you finish the video, scroll down! You will learn a new note!
RHYTHMIC DURATION TASK:
With your team, divide into 2 groups: an X group and an O group for a little Tic, Qac, Toe!
(Extra challenge: If you feel these rhythms are easy, select Level 2 or Level 3 on the top right purple box!)
Now that you are familiar with quarter notes, quarter rests, 8th notes, half notes, half rests, whole notes and whole rests, let's learn about a brand new rhythm that you can use in your composition! 16th notes!!!!
