Graduating
The Laney degree requirements can be found at

Here are some of the important highlights.
Timeline:
- August 1 (Before your 5th year)
- Dissertation Committee form
- (or > 1 semester before graduating) Apply for Candidacy - requirements are coursework and qualifying exams
- The candidacy form is provided as a .docx on the LGS website. I have created and uploaded a .pdf fillable form here. (The .tex file and LGS logo image file are also available, in the case that this form changes.)

- Early in Semester Graduating
- Application for Degree
- May be submitted even if you are not sure whether or not you'll graduate that semester.
- Must resubmit if submitted previously.
- May be done on OPUS or with paper form
- Application for Degree
- Later, but not at the end, of Semester Graduating
- (Before submitting the rest) Submit dissertation electronically to the Electronic Theses and Dissertations Repository, or ETD.
- Complete the Dissertation Title Submission Form. This is for commencement.
- Bring to the LGS office:
- A Report of Completion of the Requirements for Doctoral / Master's Degree
- A printed copy of your thesis or dissertation
- An Electronic Theses and Dissertations Repository Submission Agreement.
- A ProQuest/UMI Publishing Agreement
- One extra copy of your title page and of your abstract.
- Printed certificates of completion for one or two online surveys: the Graduate Education Exit Survey and the Survey of Earned Doctorates
- A check book to pay for the ProQuest publishing.
- Before leaving campus:
- For the academic year in which you are graduating, Terry needs your final exams and excel grade books (in case anyone wants to contest their grades.)
